At its June 12-13 meetings, Conroe City Council will consider adopting an ordinance amending its irrigation restrictions to institute restrictions from May 1-Oct. 31.
What you need to know
The proposed ordinance that will come before council would impose irrigation restrictions between May 1-Oct. 31, with irrigation allowed only between the hours of 6 p.m.-10 a.m. during those months. When residents can operate irrigation systems would depend on their addresses.
- Odd-numbered addresses would be able to water on Tuesdays and Fridays
- Even-numbered addresses would be able to water on Wednesdays and Saturdays
Unless drought conditions exist, the proposed ordinance would not impose any irrigation restrictions between Nov. 1 and April 30, according to the proposed ordinance. Residents who or other entities that plan to re-sod or add new landscaping to their properties would be able to apply for a variance to the year-round watering requirements.
