Montgomery County business owner, community supporter Tony Gullo dies at age 90

Through his business, Gullo was heavily involved in the community and founded Gullo Christmas for Kids, a nonprofit to help families in Conroe ISD during the holiday season. Gullo also turned his 5-acre Magnolia home into a Christmas lights display during the holiday season.

Additionally, Gullo started the Gullo Dealership Scholarship Program, which offers scholarships to 12 public high school students in Montgomery County, according to the dealership’s website.

In June 2023, Gullo donated $300,000 to the Montgomery County Veterans Memorial Park for the construction of the Texas Raiders Memorial, Community Impact previously reported.

• “A dear friend of the city of Conroe and of the county, personal friend of many of us, when I got into the car business he was my boss—Tony Gullo,” Montgomery County Judge Mark Keough said at the beginning of the June 18 commissioners court meeting before a moment of silence. “I’m so sorry to hear about this weekend.”
• “Thank you, Mr. Gullo, for your contributions and blessings to Conroe,” Conroe Mayor Jody Czajkoski said in a Facebook post. “RIP. Peace be with you.”
• We are saddened by the news of Mr. Gullo's passing,” Montgomery County Commissioner Charlie Riley said in a Facebook post. “He was a generous gentleman who will be missed. Our condolences go out to his friends and family.”
