Sacred Heart Catholic Church has partnered with the city to provide a cooling center for residents, pending a vote from council.
The overview
During a July 12 workshop meeting, Nancy Mikeska—assistant city administrator and community development director—said the church was looking at opening a cooling center with the city that would be open for residents.
- Open Monday-Friday: 10 a.m.-5 p.m.
- Closed evenings and weekends
- The city would supply water and security.
The city will vote on the partnership during a July 13 council meeting. Project details and cost will be shared at a later date.
