During its May 8 meeting, Conroe City Council approved a resolution that will change its extraterritorial jurisdiction from 3.5 to 5 miles and assume all the responsibilities and benefits, according to the agenda.
What this means
Conroe City Council passed a resolution stating the city has more than 100,000 residents, and in doing so, the city expanded its ETJ.
“In 2008, we had 13,000 water connections, and now in 2025 we have ... 51,000 [connections]” Deputy City Administrator Nancy Mikeska said during the May 7 workshop meeting.
