Conroe City Council approves Beryl-related debris removal contracts

At its July 25 meeting, Conroe City Council approved contracts to manage and remove debris following Hurricane Beryl.

The gist

Council approved as part of its consent agenda—on which items are approved with one motion without discussion—contracts with DRC and Volkert to manage and remove debris.

DRC and Volkert will be paid $856,526 for a debris management and monitoring contract and a debris removal contract, respectively, according to the July 25 agenda packet.

• $701,186: DRC for debris removal
• $155,340: Volkert for debris management and monitoring

Alongside several inches of rainfall, Hurricane Beryl left Conroe with nearly 50,000 cubic feet of debris, according to the agenda packet.
