Mandatory water restrictions in the northwest portion of Conroe are no longer in effect after the city called off its Stage 2 drought, according to an Oct. 17 news release. The entire city remains under a Stage 1 drought, which comes with voluntary water restrictions.

According to the news release, the city cited the successful repair of water production equipment in the northwest part of the city as the reason for the drought stage downgrade.
