A new independent bookstore is coming to Montgomery, co-owner Sydney Walker confirmed.

The Dusted Shelf Bookstore, co-owned by mother-daughter duo Sydney and Gretchen Walker, is set to open next week, Sydney Walker said.
The bookstore will have a variety of genres, including fantasy, sci-fi, romance, mystery, thriller, general fiction and classic literature, with the goal of adding children's books and graphic novels.
Sydney Walker is hoping to build and grow a community that allows book clubs to meet at the store and writers to work in a creative environment. She is also wanting to host community events like poetry slams, local author book readings and more.
The shop will also sell table top games, apparel, book marks, t-shifts, tumblers, hats and more, Sydney said.
