Local veteran and Conroe resident Michele Thompson has recently announced the opening of a soul food restaurant, Nana Soul Food.

Originally a catering and food truck business, Nana Soul Food will officially open its brick-and-mortar location Oct. 13, from 11 a.m.-9 p.m.
Thompson said the lack of authentic soul food locations in the area motivated her to open Nana Soul Food. The location will serve a wide variety of classic soul food meals, including oxtails, macaroni & cheese, collard greens, cornbread and more.
