An established church within Montgomery County recently underwent rebranding, which included a relocation to a larger property, officials confirmed.
Formerly known as Grand Central Church, The Sanctuary sold its previous property at 1115 Houston Street, Conroe, and closed the deal on its new one located at 1701 McCaleb Road, Montgomery, in mid-June, Community Pastor Vance Fellers told Community Impact.
The Sanctuary held its first service inside its new space on June 14 and has since remained open to the public for a soft opening period.
Some context
When the church was established 10 years ago, church members initially gathered for service at a Spring High School facility. After two years, the congregation outgrew said space and moved into another venue spanning just one acre of land, Fellers said.
Around the time of rebranding, Fellers added that this former space was once again reaching full capacity due to the church’s growing attendance numbers, which influenced its transition to a five-acre property.
In addition to increased space, the community pastor noted the new building’s proximity to locals from all corners of Montgomery County, which has been one of the church’s goals since its inception.
“We have always wanted to be out in this area,” Fellers said. “It’s kind of halfway between Montgomery and Conroe. That way, the people that are already members of our congregation won’t have as far to drive from one half or the other half.”

Attendees can visit The Sanctuary for its grand opening event on Sept. 13, the community pastor confirmed.
The church’s lead pastor is Tim Barosh, and Sunday services begin at 10 a.m.
