A water valve repair will cause motorists turning south on North Lamar Boulevard from 38th Street to be detoured over the weekend, from Saturday, Jan. 6 to Sunday, Jan. 7. Those drivers will be routed south through Medical Parkway. Austin Water is repairing an aging 42-inch water valve in the 48-inch line that runs below Lamar. Water service to the area will not be interrupted; however, residents can expect some traffic delays, according to a city of Austin news release. Non-through traffic will be able to access businesses and homes on portions of both 38th and Lamar, according to the release.
