The group behind Odd Duck and Barley Swine hope to open Sour Duck Market at 1814 E. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd., Austin, by Christmas. Chef and partner Mark Buley said the space will include a bakery, cafe and smokehouse as well as a cocktail and beer garden. The lot, located on the corner of MLK and Chicon Street, was formerly occupied by catering company Joe’s Place. Buley said Sour Duck Market will offer similar menu items as Odd Duck and Barley Swine, but with a culture that goes back to Odd Duck’s days as a food trailer. www.oddduckaustin.com
