This New Year's Eve, Capital Metro will offer free rides and some extended service options to ensure that revelers have safe transportation options on one of the most dangerous nights of the year for drivers. On Sunday, Dec. 31, Capital Metro will offer free rides on MetroBus, MetroRapid, MetroRail and MetroAccess from 6 p.m. until the end of service. MetroRail is the only service that will be extended that evening. The last downtown train will leave at 2:30 a.m. Local MetroBus service will operate on its normal Sunday schedule. Night Owls, E-Buses and UT Shuttles will not be in service.
