Typically only open for the summer season, six pools run by the city of Austin will remain open through Sept. 24.
These include:
- Garrison Pool
- Govalle Pool
- Mabel Davis Pool
- Beverly S. Sheffield Northwest Pool
- Shipe Pool
- Walnut Creek Pool
The Austin Parks and Recreation Department is able to extend the operation of these pools due to sufficient staffing of lifeguards.
All pools, with the exception of Barton Springs Pool and Deep Eddy Pool, will close at 4 p.m. Aug. 13.
