As heavy rain continues to fall in Austin, the Lower Colorado River Authority announced that Lakes Travis and Buchanan are full, meaning LCRA will move water downstream. To do so, LCRA will partially open a floodgate at Tom Miller Dam around 4 p.m. on the afternoon of Jan. 2. The floodgate is expected to remain partially open for several days, according to a media release from LCRA.
Flows downstream will be fast, and water levels will be higher than usual downstream of Tom Miller Dam. Take action to protect people, property. https://t.co/eopD6oiZGC
