The $1.1 billion bond voters passed to fund new projects across Austin ISD includes 17 projects to modernize or build new schools throughout the district. Twelve of those 17 modernization projects, which are each receiving more than $20 million in funding to rebuild at their current site or at a new location, are located within Central Austin. Some projects, like the new Northeast Middle School in Mueller, have yet to start construction, while work is in the late stages at Govalle Elementary School and T.A. Brown Elementary School in anticipation of those campuses opening in January. Schools that have yet to break ground are marked on the map in blue. Schools that have already broken ground are marked in red.
