Lammes Candies, the Austin candy maker founded in 1885 on Congress Avenue, is back in business two months after its last store closed.
Fort Worth-based Delightful Development Co. acquired the brand in partnership with the Lamme family, according to a Sept. 29 news release. The family announced in April that it was closing the business after 141 years, as Community Impact previously reported.
In a nutshell
Preorders opened Sept. 29 at lammes.com for a final, limited run of Lammes favorites in the brand's original boxes, according to the release. Orders begin shipping nationwide Nov. 1.
"Our vision isn't to change what Lammes Candies is known for," Delightful Development co-founder Kayla Wilkie-Kinne said in the release.
The website lists Longhorns in milk or dark chocolate, Texas Chewie Pecan Pralines, chocolate-covered pralines, Texas Flag Pralines, and Christmas and spring Sherbet Mints. Prices start at $23.95 for a 6-ounce box of Longhorns.

Lammes closed all of its retail stores this year. The Round Rock shop at 110 I-35, Ste. 150, closed April 24, according to previous reports. The flagship at 5330 Airport Blvd. sold out of its remaining candy July 30 and closed the next day, according to a company Facebook post.
The new owners do not have a storefront but may open one in the future, a spokesperson for Lammes and Delightful Development told Community Impact. The company will sell its candy at select retail locations across Texas and plans to announce them soon. The company sources and makes all of its products in Texas, the spokesperson said.

A full relaunch with new packaging and branding is planned for spring 2027. The new owners plan to keep legacy recipes, Texas-grown pecans and handcrafted production, per the website. They also plan to add new chocolates and candies.
