Maguire Moorman Lambert opened Howards Bar and Club—which aims to be part neighborhood tavern, part lounge—on Oct. 4 at 1130 W. Sixth St., Austin. Howards features craft cocktails and a full menu of bar food, such as fried olives and homemade soft pretzels. Rosie’s Wine Bar opened Oct. 4. The bar features a rotating list of mostly natural wines from around the world. Rosie’s also has a menu featuring small plates from Spain, Portugal and France. Rosie’s Wine Bar is located at 1130 W. Sixth St., Austin. www.rosiesaustin.com
London-based Electric Shuffle made its way to Austin on Oct. 27. Electric Shuffle features a modern twist on the classic game by using camera vision technology—that was invented by a rocket scientist—to keep track of the puck, keep score and add up to 24 people in a game. The space will also serve craft cocktails, beer, wine and snack plates. Electric Shuffle is located at 91 Red River St., Austin.
A bar and cafe opened Oct. 26 in the former Spider House Cafe location at 2908 Fruth St., Austin. The new concept, Tweedy’s, aims to maintain the character of Spider House Cafe. Spider House Cafe closed in March 2020 due the pandemic and did not reopen.Instagram: tweedysbar
