Travis County has distributed all of its current stock of at-home COVID-19 test kits as of the morning of Dec. 22, and it is awaiting a resupply before it is able to give out more free tests to residents.
Hector Nieto, the county's public information officer, said Travis County has already placed an order for more kits, but they not will arrive by Dec. 27, when the county had planned to continue handing them out at its community centers. The county previously received 2,100 kits in late November and began sending them to food pantries before opening appointment-based distribution to residents Dec. 21.
