There’s something for everyone this weekend in the Austin area, including the Vintage Market Days in Round Rock, Austin Sketch Fest and the Austin Steam Train Wild West Rider out of Cedar Park.
Here are six events for locals to attend from Aug. 14-16.

Austin Sketch Fest
This festival showcases scripted comedy from Austin and beyond over two weekends.
Ice Age Night
The Ladybird Johnson Wildflower Center invites locals to visit the Ice Age exhibit after dark. The installation includes 15 mammal sculptures scattered throughout the gardens and the event will feature free face painting, a craft, a dance party and food and beverages available from Fairy Freeze and The Corndog Company.
Vintage Market Days
The upscale vintage-inspired market features original art, antiques, clothing, jewelry, handmade treasures, home decor, outdoor furnishings, seasonal plantings and more.
Austin Steam Train Wild West Rider
This three-and-a-half hour cowboy-themed railroad journey through the Hill Country begins and ends in Cedar Park. Riders are encouraged to come in costume for a 44-mile trip in restored vintage railcars pulled by a diesel locomotive.
Woodsminster Kennel Club Dog Show
Little Woodrow’s Tech Ridge will host a dog show with best dressed and best trick contests.
6th Annual Tri Das Triathlon
Athletes of all skill levels can compete in a timed swim, bike and run challenge. Participants will complete a 10-minute swim, 30-minute bike ride and 20-minute run, with scores based on the total distance covered during each segment.
