With Earth Day coming up, local nonprofits and city departments are offering opportunities for residents to volunteer, learn and celebrate with their communities.
Here is a list of free or low-cost Earth Day events across the Austin area. All event details are subject to change.
Keep Austin Beautiful Day
As part of its annual Earth Day tradition, Keep Austin Beautiful is hosting over a hundred volunteer events focused on beautification and litter removal across the city. Volunteers can find opportunities across each of Austin’s City Council districts.
Cedar Park Earth Day CelebrationThe Parks and Trails Foundation of Cedar Park will host its annual Earth Day celebration at Lakeline Park, featuring a variety of local nonprofit organizations, educational opportunities and food. Participants can also bid in a silent auction to support local parks and trails.
Earth Day at Zilker Botanical GardenZilker Botanical Garden invites guests to participate in a variety of hands-on activities, including a microgreens activity and seed ball making. The garden will also host a community plant swap featuring special plant giveaways.
Round Rock Earth DayThe city of Round Rock invites community members of all ages to attend its 2026 Earth Day event. Participants can enjoy a range of activities focused on promoting environmental awareness and connection.
Spring Earth Day Celebration at Williamson County Old Settlers AssociationThe Williamson Museum at Old Settlers Association will host a family-friendly Earth Day event featuring tours of historic cabins, crafts and other activities focused on conservation.

Cedar Park Clean-UpResidents of Cedar Park can join in on this Earth Day clean-up event by choosing a park to volunteer at and picking up supplies provided by the city.
Texas Science and Natural History Museum's Earth Day CelebrationThe Texas Science & Natural History Museum will host an event featuring hands-on activities for all ages that explore various Earth processes. There will also be an activity where participants can turn plastic waste into fashion designs, while supplies last.
Annual New Braunfels Community Earth Day & Arbor Day CelebrationAlong with giving away 1,000 trees to residents, this annual celebration will help educate participants about the importance of conservation.
For the Love of ParksThe Travis County Parks Foundation’s fourth annual festival celebrates the county’s 27 parks with live music, face painting, animal encounters, interactive learning stations, pick-up sports, food and more. This year’s event also marks the public launch of the Park Stewards Program, a new volunteer initiative.
SpringfestHosted by the Children’s Advocacy Center and CASA of Bastrop, Fayette & Lee Counties, the family-friendly event will feature a play zone, food trucks, games and music as well as a chance to meet first responders, educators and other community leaders.
Earth Day, The Lake WayThe city of Lakeway's annual Earth Day volunteer event invites residents to help protect and preserve the Hamilton Greenbelt. This year's project focuses on removing invasive Nandina plants to restore native habitats and support local wildlife.
Clean the Water ExperimentThe Association of Future Scientists will lead a hands-on water filtration experiment at Laura’s Library, inviting young science enthusiasts to explore water conservation and environmental science through interactive, guided activities.
