To celebrate Snow Pea Chinese Restaurant & Sushi Bar’s two-year anniversary at its Lakeline location, owner Kiminsuk Ho decided to introduce yet another type of cuisine to her Asian-fusion menu—Korean foods.
Ho’s sister Haesuk created the Korean menu for Snow Pea, which offers Chinese foods—such as hot and sour soup, sweet and sour chicken and garlic pork—and Japanese dishes such as sashimi and sushi rolls. Korean foods include pork bulgogi, bibimbap, and jajangmyeon, a black noodle dish.
Although Snow Pea’s Lakeline location celebrated its anniversary in November, the business is not new to the Austin area. Ho and her family opened the original Snow Pea restaurant on Jefferson Street in Austin 18 years ago, where Ho met her soon-to-be regular customer and landlord of the Lakeline Market shopping center.
“He tried the food and a few hours later asked me to fill out an application [for a space at Lakeline Market],” Ho said, adding she had her eye on the Lakeline area for a long time. “We prayed for 10 years for this location. … I’m so happy here.”
