Voting for PEC board of directors open through June 13

PEC customers in all seven PEC districts should receive ballots by mail. Voters can fill in their ballots and return them by mail, or voters can use their ballot's election ID and password cast a vote online at www.directvote.net/pec.

This year PEC is also asking voters to choose whether they prefer voting by district or keeping the current at-large voting system. In the current system, all PEC members can vote for director candidates in any district's election.

After June 13, PEC members can still vote at PEC's annual meeting June 21 at Cedar Park High School, 2150 Cypress Creek Road. PEC will announce voting results at the meeting.

A director candidate is nominated after PEC members show support with at least 50 signatures. Directors serve three-year terms and are limited to four terms. They receive a $1,500 monthly salary if they attend more than 75 percent of regular board meetings in person or by phone. They also receive $500–$750 for each PEC meeting or committee meeting they attend.
