Starting the week of Nov. 4–8, drivers on Bagdad Road in Cedar Park are limited to one lane each direction until a reconstruction project is finished, likely in January 2015.
The city of Cedar Park plans to rebuild the road and add left-turn lanes to five intersections along 1.48 miles of Bagdad Road, which stretches from FM 1431 to just north of Kettering Drive and 600 feet into the Leander city limit, Cedar Park senior engineering associate Alan Green said.
During construction, motorists might consider taking Lakeline Boulevard or Bell Boulevard, Cedar Park media and communications manager Jennie Huerta said.
The city will first close one lane each way on Bagdad Road, then about six months later, allow drivers on the refurbished lanes and close the others for further work. The added lanes will help prevent left-turning traffic from stacking in the fast lanes, Green said.
