In time for Halloween, the Leander Chamber of Commerce & Visitors Center is hosting a networking event in which attendees can shoot zombies with firearms inside Shady Oaks Gun Range in Cedar Park.
Chamber President Bridget Brandt said the idea for the event first started as a skeet shoot competition, but because of the large number of participants that would be needed, the idea morphed into another idea—shooting zombies.
“The goal with our mixers is to try to add something to them to make them more fun,” Brandt said. “What if we turn our October mixer into the zombie shoot? We can still have people come and mix and mingle, but instead of just doing that, we’ll shoot zombies and it will be a ton of fun.”
Attendees can sign up to participate in the competition in which shooters attempt to receive as many points as possible by shooting paper zombie targets with precise aim. Each area on the zombie target is worth a certain number of points, and the man and woman with the highest score are named the winners.
