Registration is open for the 2013–14 Leadership Cedar Park class, a 9-month program aimed to educate community members about different aspects of the city.
Hosted by the Cedar Park Chamber of Commerce, the program begins in September and is designed to identify and educate existing and potential leaders of Cedar Park. Monthly day-long sessions teach participants about topics such as health care, education, economic development, social services and more.
"Leadership classes are the best way to get to know your community, learn about what it takes to be a successful leader and it is a great way to make lifelong friends and business companions," said Chamber of Commerce President Tony Moline." Everyone who goes through these programs comes out pumped with new ideas and many graduates go on to become successful leaders of our community."
Leadership classmates are required to ride together to and from events and can only miss 4 hours of instruction throughout the duration of the class, which concludes in May 2014. Participants will then be expected serve on a governing board or committee through the city, county or nonprofit organization, according to the application for appointment.
