Cedar Park Regional Medical Center plans to add second office building

Cedar Park Regional Medical Center is expected to break ground in February on a new medical office building.

The four-story, 80,000-square-foot building, slated for completion in early 2014, represents the hospital's second on-site medical office. The first office building, which is home to various medical professionals, opened along with the hospital in late 2007, CPRMC spokeswoman Laura Balla said.

The hospital is actively seeking more medical professionals interested in relocating to Cedar Park, she said. Once complete, the office will feature individuals with a variety of medical backgrounds and specialties.

"Many of their patients may currently be going outside of the area, and they're wanting to move here because they know their patients are coming from the Cedar Park and Leander area," Balla said.

The new building will feature a similar look and size as the original office space, she said. J Jacobs Construction is responsible for building the structure, while Stream Realty is marketing the property to doctors interested in opening a clinic near CPRMC.

Balla said this project serves as proof that CPRMC's expanded presence in Cedar Park has helped attract coinciding business—and thus, jobs—to the area.

There has already been a strong level of interest from physicians interested in relocating to the new medical office building, she said, although an exact number of signed tenants could not be confirmed.
