Cedar Park city officials say they continue to meet with leaders from Schlitterbahn Waterparks in hopes of developing a water park plan resembling the one announced in 2010.
Economic Development Director Phil Brewer said in January that the city is still having "positive" discussions with the New Braunfels–based company about building a water park near FM 1431 and Parmer Lane. However, a former partner in the deal, Cedar Park Land, is no longer involved in negotiations, he said.
"At this point I can say Cedar Park Land is no longer involved in any of the discussions that are taking place. That's happened in the last six months," Brewer said. "[The project] is in the same vicinity. It's not on the exact piece of property it had been proposed on, but [it is on] a piece of property in the immediate area."
Angela Flournoy, corporate communications manager for Schlitterbahn, confirmed the company is still interested in building a water park in Cedar Park but could not comment on a timeline for an agreement.
