Owners add fresh, local flair to Mexican-inspired menu
Carlos Manzano and Santos Garcia have spent a combined 37 years gaining chef experience and the past two years cooking in their own restaurant from scratch. On March 4, they opened Blue Corn Harvest Bar & Grill in Cedar Park, named after one of their favorite ingredients.
"I've known Santos for 15 years. He went to my wedding," Manzano said. "At that time, we were working for Z'Tejas on Sixth Street."
The friends and executive chefs soon began planning to open their own restaurant, one that would focus on fresh, local ingredients. They are originally from Mexico and wanted to follow the American dream, Manzano said.
