The Texas Education Agency recognized schools for high achievement with distinction designations, including 63 distinction designations for Leander ISD schools, according to the TEA's 2018 Accountability Manual. In order to qualify to earn distinction designations, a campus must have a Met Standard accountability rating, according to the documents. All but one of LISD’s campuses met this standard. Last year, LISD earned 39 state distinctions overall, according to the district’s website. This year, elementary schools were recognized with 26 distinctions, middle schools earned 19 and high schools received 18, an LISD statement said. The distinctions, listed below for LISD schools, included several categories, including postsecondary readiness and academic achievement in English language arts and reading, mathematics, science and social studies. Distinctions were also recognized for schools in the top 25 percent of comparative campuses in closing student achievement gaps and academic growth, according to TEA documents.
