Toyota of Cedar Park seeking to expand by 9.22 acres

Cedar Park City Council plans at its Jan. 23 meeting to consider a Future Land Use Plan Amendment that could potentially lead to a 9.22-acre expansion of the Toyota of Cedar Park dealership.

In order to expand its vehicle sales area, Toyota of Cedar Park is seeking to change the Future Land Use Description of a parcel—which is adjacent to and north of the existing dealership at 5600 US 183A—from regional office/retail/commercial to heavy commercial, according to the city. The parcel is currently zoned as general business.

If the Future Land Use Plan Amendment is accepted by City Council, it would allow the dealership to apply to rezone the property and request a Special Use Permit to expand its vehicle sales area onto the parcel.

According to city documents, the applicant wishes “to build a new building to provide for vehicle sales with associated parking for vehicle display and customer parking as an expansion of the existing Toyota dealership.”

If permitted, the dealership would expand from 19 to 28.22 acres, according to city documents.

The existing dealership, a LEED-certified facility, opened for business May 1, 2017, Community Impact Newspaper previously reported. It features 40 service bays, a full-service car wash, alignment checks, service pickup, delivery shuttles and service loaner vehicles.

The council meeting is scheduled for 6 p.m. at 450 Cypress Creek Road, Bldg. 4, Cedar Park.
