Leander ISD will hold a vaccine clinic Nov. 6 for ages 5-11, according to a Nov. 3 announcement. About 1,000 shots will be available.
The clinic will be from 1-5 p.m. at the Leander Extended Opportunity Center, located at 300 S. West Drive, Leander. No appointments are necessary, but paperwork can be filled out in advance online or in person on paper, according to LISD.
On Nov. 2, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommended the Pfizer pediatric vaccine for ages 5-11. This expanded vaccine recommendations to about 28 million children in the United States, according to the CDC.
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration authorized the emergency use of the Pfizer vaccine for ages 5-11 on Oct. 29.
