Local support is making Cherry Creek Catfish Cafe a success, owner Danny Lenertz said.

The Austin restaurant opened a Leander location at Business Park 2243 in October.

“It’s actually performing better than I’d planned,” he said.

Lenertz said his greatest challenge is finding employees to work in the kitchen. Until then he is still transporting dishwashers and cooks from his restaurant’s Austin location.

“That’s the biggest thing I need to fix,” he said.

But Cherry Creek is not lacking customers, and Lenertz expects more growth in the spring.

“After we get through the winter months, then we’ll be opening up the deck,” he said. “We’re able now to be staffed well enough for that.”
