Williamson County will hold a groundbreaking ceremony May 14, celebrating the beginning of construction on the $90 million administration building that will serve as the new county headquarters.
In a nutshell
The project was approved by the Williamson County Commissioners Court in February 2023, as the county plans to shift operations from the historic Williamson County Courthouse to a new location in Georgetown, located on a 170-acre tract near the corner of Southwestern Boulevard and SE Inner Loop.
The new building will house the Commissioners Court courtroom, Williamson County judge’s office, county tax assessor and collector, county clerk’s records division, county treasurer, county auditor, budget office, and purchasing and public affairs, according to county staff.
