6 new pickleball courts coming soon to the Southwest Williamson County Regional Park

Editor's note: Community Impact originally reported the park was closed for renovations, whereas only small parts of the park were closed and will reopen April 12. This does not include the anticipated pickleball courts.

Pickleball players near Round Rock, Leander and Cedar Park can ready their best paddle as Southwest Williamson County Regional Park is undergoing renovations to add six new pickleball courts among other improvements. The park will be holding a ribbon cutting ceremony April 24 at 6 p.m. to celebrate this addition to the park.

What you need to know

In conjunction with park renovations, Williamson County Commissioners Court approved updates to the park’s daily activity fee during a regular meeting March 19, including a $2 day-use fee for the pickleball courts.

Park pass holders will be able to access the pickleball courts for free. The pass costs $50 annually and is available for purchase online or at the park’s headquarters.

Other improvements to the park include resurfacing, repainting and restriping the tennis and basketball courts. Three of the six basketball courts will be converted into the pickleball courts. Three restrooms throughout the park will also be receiving renovations.
