Bryan-College Station 'Big 6' updates, April 20-23

Construction work on Hwy. 6 continues through Bryan-College Station. For the week of April 20, the Texas Department of Transportation will be focusing on paving some roadways.

What's happening?

Here is a look at the "Big 6" closures drivers should know about for April 20-23.

• April 20:
  • Full closure from Harvey Road to Texas Avenue, 8 p.m.-6:30 a.m.
    • The southbound main lanes will be directed to exit at Southwest Parkway and reenter at Texas Avenue.
    • Southbound on-ramps will also be closed, north of Harvey Road, Southwest Parkway and Harvey Mitchell Parkway.
  • Single-lane closure between Texas Avenue on-ramp and Rock Prairie Road, 7:30 p.m.-6:30 a.m.
    • Drivers won't be able to enter the right between Texas Avenue and Rock Prairie Road.
    • The exit ramp at Barron Road, heading south, will also be closed.
  • Single-lane closure at Boonville Road, 7:30 p.m.-6:30 a.m.
    • TxDOT will close off the right lane on the frontage road heading north.
    • The westbound right lane will remain open but the northbound left turn only lane will be closed on the frontage road.
• April 21:
  • Full closure from Harvey Road to Texas Avenue, 8 p.m.-6:30 a.m.
    • The southbound main lanes will be directed to exit at Southwest Parkway and reenter at Texas Avenue.
    • Southbound on-ramps will also be closed, north of Harvey Road, Southwest Parkway and Harvey Mitchell Parkway.
  • Single-lane closure between Texas Avenue on-ramp and Rock Prairie Road, 7:30 p.m.-6:30 a.m.
    • Drivers won't be able to enter the right between Texas Avenue and Rock Prairie Road.
    • The exit ramp at Barron Road, heading south, will also be closed.
  • Exit ramp closure at Texas Avenue north, 7:30 p.m.-6:30 a.m.
    • TxDOT will close the northbound Texas Avenue/Business 6 off-ramp to pave the road.
    • Drivers can get to Texas Avenue at the Southwest Parkway traffic signal.
  • Single-lane closure on west frontage road at Briarcrest Drive, 7:30 p.m.-6:30 a.m.
    • The right lane on the frontage road at Hwy. 6 north will be closed, but the westbound right turn lane will stay open.
    • The left turn only lane on the northbound frontage road will also be closed.
• April 22:
  • Full closure from Harvey Road to Texas Avenue, 8 p.m.-6:30 a.m.
    • The southbound main lanes will be directed to exit at Southwest Parkway and re-enter at Texas Avenue.
    • Southbound on-ramps will also be closed, north of Harvey Road, Southwest Parkway and Harvey Mitchell Parkway.
  • Exit ramp closure at Texas Avenue north, 7:30 p.m.-6:30 a.m.
    • TxDOT will close the northbound Texas Avenue/Business 6 off-ramp to pave the road.
    • Drivers can get to Texas Avenue at the Southwest Parkway traffic signal.
  • Single-lane closure on northbound frontage road from Rock Prairie Road to Harvey Mitchell Parkway, 7:30 p.m.-6:30 a.m.
    • The left lane on the northbound frontage road will be closed for paving.
    • Also closed at Rock Prairie Road:
      • Northbound center left turn lane
      • Westbound left turn only lanes
    • The northbound entrance ramp south of Harvey Mitchell and Emerald Parkway will also be closed.
  • Single-lane closure on frontage road at University Drive, 7:30 p.m.-6:30 a.m.
    • The right lane and left turn only lane will be closed at the Hwy. 6 frontage road.
• April 23:
  • Full closure from Harvey Road to Texas Avenue, 8 p.m.-6:30 a.m.
    • The southbound main lanes will be directed to exit at Southwest Parkway and reenter at Texas Avenue.
    • Southbound on-ramps will also be closed, north of Harvey Road, Southwest Parkway and Harvey Mitchell Parkway.
  • Single-lane closure at Harvey Road, 7:30 p.m.-6:30 a.m.
    • The southbound right lane will be closed.
    • Included in this closure:
      • The on-ramp at the southbound entrance north of Harvey Road
      • The southbound frontage road south to the north turnaround at Harvey Road
