College Station City Council will review several infrastructure projects, recreation planning efforts and development discussions at its May 18 meeting.
The agenda includes updates on a new public works facility, a recreation center feasibility study and multiple easement actions tied to redevelopment near Cherry Street, along with more than $18 million in consent agenda spending on parks, utilities and transportation projects.

Before open session, council will meet in executive session to discuss:
- Ongoing litigation involving the city and the Public Utility Commission of Texas
- Real estate negotiations involving land in the Midtown Business Park and property along Harvey Road
- Economic development incentives, including the proposed Midtown baseball development and an agreement tied to College Station Town Center
Any final decisions will be up to a public vote.

Several consent agenda items focus on infrastructure upgrades and community projects residents may notice in the coming months.
Major items expected for approval include:
- $13.87 million construction contract for the Thomas Park and surrounding streets project
- $316,068 for new crosswalk construction along Welsh Avenue at A&M Consolidated High School
- $664,122 Southwest Parkway drainage improvements
- $144,725 design contract for a Lincoln Center splash pad project using Community Development Block Grant funds
- $150,000 Hotel Occupancy Tax grant supporting the 2026-2028 Texas 4-H Roundup
- A memorial installation agreement at Veterans Memorial Park
- Sidewalk installation funding along Holleman Drive and Anderson Street
- City participation in aesthetic enhancements for the Hwy. 6 widening project
Council members will also receive updates on two long-term planning efforts, including a Public Works Facility project and a feasibility study for a potential recreation center.

The regular agenda is dominated by public hearings tied to redevelopment activity near 603 Cherry Street, which is located in the Northgate area. According to the consent agenda, the area is also up for the removal of on-street parking.
City Council will consider multiple ordinances to:
- Vacate or abandon several utility and sewer easements
- Clear development constraints on multiple lots within the Tauber Addition and Matt Cooley Subdivision areas

- Amending the Comprehensive Plan to remove a planned extension of Pavilion Avenue, including future bike lanes and sidewalks previously envisioned between Sebesta Road and Hwy. 6 South
- Adoption of updated Standards of Care for Parks and Recreation elementary-age programs to comply with state childcare exemption requirements
