County Elections Administrator Trudy Hancock reported 32,143 ballots were cast, representing about 23% turnout among roughly 138,000 registered voters. This participation level was described as typical for a primary election.
The Republican primary recorded 18,057 votes, while the Democratic primary saw 14,086 ballots cast.
