Looking for plans this weekend, Sept. 24-27? From game and shopping events supporting local charitable organizations to a stein-holding contest, there is a lot going on in Aggieland this weekend. This list is not comprehensive and events are subject to change.
Art and Film/Film as Art
Kimbell Cultural Event Center began an art exhibit Aug. 28 where “cinema and canvas collide,” according to Destination Bryan. The exhibit is paired with a film series showcase to complement the art.
CASA Tile Classic: Mahjong for a Mission
Supporting Voices for Children, participants may play three games of social Mahjong and be eligible to win "exciting prizes," according to VFC Brazos. Light bites, drinks and raffles will also be available at the event hosted at The Stella Hotel.
Global Welcome Party
Texas A&M's Memorial Student Center will host an event at Aggie Park celebrating and welcoming international students, employees and students returning from education abroad programs. It is a public event, open to all. According to Visit College Station, the welcome party will feature music, games, dancing, cultural performances, food and prizes as well as resources to connect with the campus and community.
Brazos Valley Beekeepers Association: Bee School
Supporting Brazos Valley Beekeeper Youths, this family-friendly event will include educational classes about beekeeping basics, tax exemptions, landscaping and honey. It will also feature an open market for shopping as well as friendly competitions.
Aggieland Card Show
Collectors, dealers and hobbyists from across Texas will gather at Hilton College Station & Conference Center to buy, sell and trade sports cards, Pokémon cards and other memorabilia.
KinderHill Brew Lab's 5th Annual Oktoberfest
The locally owned brew pub, pizza kitchen and biergarten will have a stein-holding contest to celebrate the German-originated festival in Aggieland. KinderHill will be tapping its annual release of Märzen lager. The event will feature food specials, including house-made mustard served with pretzels and brats and an Oktoberfest Pizza, which features beer-braised brats, red cabbage and curry ketchup.

Pumpkin Patch with Habitat for Humanity
BCS Habitat for Humanity's Faith in Action committee has opened its annual pumpkin patch to raise funds to sponsor and build homes for local families in need. The volunteer-run pumpkin patch will be open through Halloween.
