Looking for plans this weekend? Summertime in Aggieland is in full swing. Several swim events and socials will be hosted the weekend of July 17, along with movies. This list is not comprehensive and events are subject to change.
'The Odyssey' at The Queen Theatre
"The Odyssey" (2026) follows Odysseus after the Trojan War and his trip back to Ithaca, where he meets the cyclops, sirens and Calypso. The Queen Theatre is described as "intimate" with comfortable chairs and a full-service kitchen.
Rye Masterclass
Hush & Whisper in downtown Bryan is hosting a guided rye whiskey tasting, also exploring how it's produced.
Sensory-Friendly Swim Night
For those who prefer a calmer swim environment, Cindy Hallaran Pool will host a sensory-friendly swim time. During this time, music is lowered and lifeguards will only blow whistles in cases of emergencies.

Dive-In Movie: 'Luca'
Bryan Aquatic Center will show "Luca" (2021) on its 16-foot screen. Tubes, aquatic lounges and pool noodles are welcome but outside food and drink are not. Food will be available for purchase.

Mosaic Art Classes: Turkish Lamp Workshop
At this hands-on workshop, attendees can explore 500-year-old traditions and history while designing a mosaic lamp in a "cozy, social atmosphere," according to Visit College Station. This is a 2.5-hour class offered to all age 7 and older at Courtyard by Marriott.

Brazos Valley Family Expo
The community is invited to a free family-friendly event at the Brazos Center, where 60 booths will highlight family-focused services, shopping and resources. The Kid Zone will feature interactive performances, character meet-and-greets and face painting. Food trucks will also be on-site for meals for purchase.
Brothers After War: Movie & Seminar
The Gary Sinise Foundation is hosting a free lunch, movie, journal and seminar for service members, veterans, first responders and their families at the George H.W. Bush Presidential Library and Museum. The event centers around "Brothers After War" (2023), from Executive Producer Gary Sinise, which follows brotherhood found during the Iraq War.

TEEX Municipal Vendor Show
Connected with the Texas Annual Fire Training Schools, TEEX will host two vendor shows for all to see the products and services available. More than 130 displays may be seen over the two days at Reed Arena. The Sunday show will feature fire and emergency services, including U.S. Fire Truck Parts.
