From free concerts to Mother’s Day events, check out this weekend’s roundup of events happening May 8-10. This list is not comprehensive, and events are subject to change.
Drive-in movie
The city of Bryan will present a double-feature drive-in showing of “Shrek” and “Shrek 2” with activities beforehand such as yard games, inflatables, face painting and food trucks. Guests are invited to watch the movies from their cars or bring blankets and chairs; food and leashed pets are allowed.
Movie night
Stage 12 at Brookshire Brothers will host two family-friendly movie nights in May. Food and drinks will be available for purchase.
Mother’s Day Market
Aquatic Greens Farm, an aquaponics farm providing volunteer opportunities to adults with special needs, will host a Mother’s Day Market featuring local vendors, organic produce, gifts, farm tours and food.
World Migratory Bird Day
The College Station Parks and Recreation Department will celebrate World Migratory Bird Day through family-friendly activities, such as birding tours, games, educational booths, storytime, animal ambassadors and seed garden giveaways at the Gary Halter Nature Center.
Market on The Green
Century Square hosts a pop-up vendor market on The Green with live music and local vendors. Free parking is available in the garage behind Star Cinema Grill.

Unity in Strings finale concert
Unity in Strings, previously the Brazos Valley Youth String Chamber Orchestra, will celebrate the culmination of its first year as a new nonprofit with its finale concert, featuring performances by the parent and child, family, and adult orchestra groups.

Sunday family day
Families will be able to enjoy crafts and games at Larry J. Ringer Library during Sunday Family Day, featuring multiple building toys, coloring sheets and video games to spark children's creativity.
‘Let us Dance’
The Brazos Civic Orchestra will present its free spring concert featuring local musicians.
