Do Ho Suh: In Process
This artist installation will be on display at Rice University’s Moody Center for the Arts from Sept. 6-Dec. 21. The exhibit of sculptures, drawings and artwork explores Do Ho Suh’s methodologies and practice through studio materials, collaborative projects and finished works.
Houston-based artists Lorena Molina and Sindhu Thirumalaisamy are celebrated with an opening reception for their murals, which will be featured on the south side of Rice campus, across Loop Road from Herring Hall. This is Moody’s Center for the Arts fourth round of commissions for its tent series, which engages local talent to provide cultural commentary through art and is meant to spark conversations among students in the upcoming year.
The Houston Zoo hosts this 21 years and older event on site. Attendees can experience the new Birds of the World exhibit that opens Labor Day weekend, hear live music from bands, and enjoy beer tasting from several popular breweries.

Viet Cultural Fest 2024
This event at NRG Center, Hall E highlights Vietnamese heritage through cultural entertainment, traditional games, competitions and authentic cuisine. It features a Pho-eating contest, a free health fair, and a showcase of local, Vietnamese-owned businesses and restaurants.
Texas Medical Center hosts a showing of PG-13 film “Pitch Perfect” at Helix Park. Families can bring a mat or towel to sit on and purchase concessions, including fresh popcorn, candies and drinks, before seeing the movie. Use code "TMC3" to validate 2 hours of parking.

The University Run
This 10K, 5K, family and KidsK event hosted by Rice University Athletics invites students, alumni and fans to represent the school. Participants are encouraged to represent their favorite college in a sprint through Rice University.
This event at Discovery Green park celebrates hispanic heritage through music, art and food. It features live Latin artists, folkloric performers and food vendors from several Latin countries.
Located in Bellaire Town Square, this food festival provides unlimited food and drink samplings, live entertainment and cooking demonstrations. Proceeds benefit the Bellaire Police & Fire Foundation.
