A new doughnut shop is opening soon in West University Place's Plaza in the Park shopping center, according to the doughnut shop on social media.

Parlor Doughnuts is a craft doughnut and coffee shop offering an array of unique bakery items. Founded by Darrick Hayden in 2019 starting in Evansville, Indiana, Parlor Doughnuts has expanded to over 50 shops throughout the United States, with another Houston location in the Heights.
Instead of using the traditional yeast or cake-style doughnuts, Parlor Doughnuts' are unique in that the store uses layered dough to create a crisp on the outside, light and fluffy on the inside doughnut, with a wide arrange of flavors and toppings.
