UFCU opens new Houston branch in the heart of Texas Medical Center

University Federal Credit Union, one of Texas's leading credit unions, recently opened its newest full-service branch at UTHealth Houston, according to an Aug. 4 news release.

The UTHealth Houston location, situated in the heart of the Texas Medical Center, marks the branch's third location in the Greater Houston area.

“Our growth is a reflection of our purpose of empowering members to achieve financial success and brighter futures,” said Michael Crowl, UFCU President and CEO in the new release. “We’re proud to expand our presence in the Houston area and deepen our commitment to the people and institutions that make Texas stronger. From classrooms to clinics to the places they call home, we’re here to support the journey of every Texan working toward a better future.”

The new location ensures the credit union can support UTHealth Houston's faculty, staff and students, as well as the broader Texas Medical Center community and nearly 30,000 UFCU members living and working in the area, according to the news release. The new location will offer a modern environment with self-service amenities, private consultation areas and 24/7 ATM access.

“Opening our new branch isn’t just about adding another location, it’s about showing up where it matters most,” said Chris Turnley, UFCU Executive Vice President of Member Experience. “We’re here to support our members and introduce new members to the tools and guidance that will help them feel confident about their finances and their future.”
