Four elected official seats are up for grabs as the Bellaire City Council officially set a general election to be held Nov. 4, according to an Aug. 4 City Council meeting.

The four elected official seats up for the November election include:
- Bellaire mayor: currently held by Gus Pappas
- Bellaire City Council Position 1: currently held by Mayor Pro Tem Winfred Frazier
- Bellaire City Council Position 3: currently held by Ross Gordon
- Bellaire City Council Position 5: currently held by Brian Witt
The mayor position has a two year term, starting from Jan. 5, 2026, to Jan. 3, 2028, while council members have a four-year term from Jan. 5, 2026, to Jan. 7, 2030, according to the city’s website.
To be eligible as a candidate, a person must:
- Be a United States citizen
- Be 21 years of age or older on the first day of the term to be filled at the election
- Have not been determined mentally incompetent by a final judgment of a court
- Have not been finally convicted of a felony from which the person has not been pardoned or otherwise released from the resulting disabilities
- Have resided continuously in the state of Texas and within the corporate limits of the city of Bellaire for 12 months immediately preceding the filing deadline of the regular election
- Be a qualified, registered voter of the state of Texas, county of Harris
Those interested in running for the positions can fill out a candidate filing packet, which ends Aug. 18 at 5 p.m.
