Two new international exhibits will open at The Health Museum on Jan. 24 from renowned artists Angelina Whalley and Sayaka Ganz.
What to expect
According to a Jan. 15 news release, Whalley's exhibit will be "Body Worlds 101: The Core of Life," a newly curated display designed to ignite curiosity, understanding and awe of the human body. The exhibit will feature real human specimens, from complete whole bodies to individual organs and intricate anatomical slices, through a preservation method known as plastination, which was invented by anatomist Gunther von Hagens. The exhibit will also include a specially designed piece for the Houston show, per the release.
Japanese artist Sayaka Ganz will also display her work through the "Reclaimed Creations" series, an exhibit that creates energy and harmony from discarded objects. Her work features reclaimed metal and plastic objects crafted into sculptures that depict animals in motion. The exhibit also offers information about the science of plastic and its impact on the world.
