League City's historic League Park at 512 Second St. will close to the public Feb. 5 as crews work to give the area several upgrades.
According to a city news release, the revitalization will include creating an improved open design and lawn area, which will be used to host events.
Crews will replace the park's paved areas in a more user-friendly layout. Crews will also install additional landscape beds along the park's perimeters to accent the park's tree canopy, the release reads.
New decorative light poles will be installed, as will lights suspended from structural cables that will hang over a large paved section in the middle of the park.
