Those awaiting the reopening of Big League Dreams will have to wait a bit longer than expected.
On Nov. 16, Big League Dreams spokesperson Jen Schaff announced in a press release the facility will not reopen until the first quarter of 2022. Over the summer, officials said the facility would reopen by December.
"All Big League Dreams League City improvements and upgrades are moving along very well," Schaff said in the release. "We are excited about the progress and the opening of this first-class venue. Unfortunately, due to supply chain issues facing our entire country, uncontrollable delays have hit us as well. It is now our expectation that the facility will be open early first quarter 2022."
Big League Dreams is a 35-acre sports facility at Calder Road and Big League Dreams Parkway. For the past 16 years, it has allowed residents and visitors to play baseball in stadiums mimicking famous professional fields.
