PREVIEW: League City officials to consider rezoning 55 acres of land

League City City Council will deliberate on whether to approve several rezoning requests throughout the city, including requests to rezone 55 acres of land from residential to industrial, at its Feb. 24 meeting.

What residents need to know

City Council will consider several rezoning and permit requests, including:

• A special use permit request to build a gas station on land zoned as neighborhood commercial, located at FM 270 and Austin Street
• A request to rezone nearly 8 acres of land on West League City Parkway near Cones Lane from residential single-family to general commercial
• A request to rezone nearly 55 acres of land along FM 517 and McFarland Road from residential single-family to limited industrial

What else?

City Council will also consider adopting a memorandum of understanding with the Texas Department of Transportation to clarify roles and project responsibilities for a 14-foot sound wall to be built along IH-45 near the Clear Creek Village neighborhood, according to city documents.
