Efforts to build a gas station east of Dakota Avenue and west of State Hwy. 3 could soon jump a final hurdle of city approval.

League City City Council will vote on the second reading of a special use permit, or SUP, request to build a gas station on 1.75 acres in a general commercial zone, according to city documents.
City Council voted 8-0 to approve the first reading of the permit at its Sept. 8 meeting, according to previous reporting by Community Impact.
Per the city’s unified development code, vehicle fueling stations require an SUP to be located within a general commercial zone, according to city documents.
Also on the agenda
City Council will also consider entering into a funding agreement with the Texas Department of Transportation for non-standard items to improve League City Parkway near Egret Bay Boulevard and Columbia Memorial Parkway, according to city documents.
