Houston Methodist Clear Lake Hospital appointed Kyle Stanzel, vice president and chief operating officer at Houston Methodist West Hospital, to become its new CEO on April 6.
The backstory
Stanzel has over 18 years of experience in health care; joined Houston Methodist West in 2018; and currently oversees day-to-day operations, facility growth and development, according to an April 7 news release from Houston Methodist.
While there, Stanzel helped the team become Leapfrog A and a Vizient Top 10 nationally ranked hospital from 2018 to 2025, which recognizes hospital safety and performance.
Stanzel’s predecessor was Carl Little, who was recently named CEO of Houston Methodist West, according to the release.

Houston Methodist Clear Lake Hospital introduced new services in 2025, including robotic-assisted spine surgery and a sleep center, according to previous reporting by Community Impact.
The robotic surgery is the first of its kind in Houston’s Bay Area and allows for greater precision, resulting in less tissue trauma and a quicker recovery for patients.
